Medium sized Evergreen trees; trunks grayish-brown, ca. 10-15 m high, 18-40 cm across; branches brown; branchlets grayish-green when fresh, glabrous to somewhat grayish-brown hirsute; buds small, ovate.
Leaves coriaceous, long ovate, 8-18.8 cm long, 3.5-8.2 cm broad, opposite to subopposite, with 3 main veins, the 2 main lateral veins reaching to the tip, prominent on both sides, abruptly short acute at apex, obtuse at base, green above, grayish-brown (pink) beneath, not fragrant; petioles 1.1-1.7 cm long, green, glabrous but rugose when fresh.
Inflorescence cymose- to umbellate-paniculate, terminal or axillary, about 12 cm long, 4-5 cm broad, tomentose; peduncles 6-7.5 cm long; flowers yellowish-green, 5 mm long, 4 mm broad; pedicels 2 mm long, with grayish-brown hairs; tepals 6, ovate, 2 mm long, 1.5 mm broad, with 3 small nerves, tomentose outside, somewhat sparsely tomentose inside; fertile stamens 9, 1-1.5 mm long, anthers 4-celled, filaments tomentose at base, 1st and 2nd whorles of stamens eglandular, anthers introrse, 3rd whorl with 2 sessile glands, anthers extrorse (2nd whorl of stamens with 2 glands, anthers introrse); staminodes 3, about 1 mm long, triangular; pistils 1.7 mm long, glabrous.
Fruit ellipsoid, 1 cm long, 0.9 cm across, glabrous.
